Scuba Review
If your a qualified diver but havent dived for a while, maybe feel a little rusty and want to brush up, then this is the refresher course for you.

Carried out over 2- 4 sessions, we cover th emain skills you require to dive safely, We encourage you to attend some theaory session too if you wish, to get your head arond those tables again.

You can complete the theory part by studying at home with a scuba review work book and take your quizz at home.

Adventure Diver
This adenventure is highly recommended to   open water divers who would like to experience MORE!!.

The experience extends your diving expertise under guided supervision to introduce new areas of diving. This is one of the most popular diving further education courses taken !

After qualifying as an Openwater Diver you may like to further your knowledge by experiencing Adventure Diving This introduces additional skills to enable you to explore further and experience more of the marine environment.
Complete 3 Adventure dives .

These can be selected from a number of possibilities but could typicaly be Search/Recovery, Wreck Diver and Multilevel Diver.

We usually run this activity at Stoney Cove when we are running the Advanced course

Advanced Open Water Diver
This course is highly recommended to recently qualified Open water students or continuing on from Adventure diver.

The course extends your diving experience under guided supervision to introduce new areas of diving. This is one of the most popular diving further education courses taken !

After qualifying as an Openwater Diver or Adventure Diver you may like to further your knowledge by joining the Advanced Open Water Course. This teaches additional skills to enable you to explore further and experience more of the marine environment. The advanced consists of completing 2 Core dives followed by 3 elective dives. The 2 core dives are Navigation and Deep, the 3 elective dives could be Multilevel dive, Wreck dive, Search and Recovery or Night dive. These dives may also count towards a speciality course as listed below.
Dont forget as a Adventure diver you already have 3 of the 5 dives under your belt!!
We usually run these sessions at Stoney Cove as we can complete in 2 days. We depart about 6 am on the first day, go diving then stay in bed a breakfast for one night. We dive the next day to finish the course and arrive back about 6 pm.
1. Required to be be 15 years old or older.

2. Be PADI Open Water Diver or equivalent rating.

Rescue Diver Course

Once you are confident with your own diving skills, you can train to become able to assist others in situations that may arise from time to time. The rescue diver does not have to always rescue other divers but assist in a manner that enables other divers to learn. If the occasion does arise then you will be able to offer well organised support to effect a rescue if needed.

1. Be 12 years old or above.

2. Be PADI  Open Water Diver or equivalent rating to start the course

3. Be PADI advanced to be able to qualify as a rescue diver.

 

The PADI Rescue diver course is an important crucial step in expanding a divers knowledge and experience beyond a purely recreational level. This rating is a prerequisite for all PADI leadership training.Through this course you will become to appreciate and understand the importance such training has on safety of others and on the dive industry as a whole.

Although the course is designed to be enjoyable, the nature and context is quite serious. and as in training in similar fields of emergency care, the primary objective of this course is to prevent the need for use of rescue skills.

Why Emergency First Response?

Accidents and illnesses happen every day. Some people need only a helping hand while others may suffer serious permanent injuries without help. By mastering Emergency First Response Primary Care (CPR) and Secondary Care (first aid) course skills you can render important care to those in need.
You’ll also know that you’re learning state of the art skills, based on the consensus view of the Basic Life Support (BLS) Working Group of the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR). In addition, the program is based on established instructional design and educational protocols to render an educationally valid and credible product. Emergency First Response courses also meet CPR requirements for participants seeking "appointed persons certificate" for work.
Emergency First Response is also flexible – you can learn background knowledge on your own time then conduct a practical, hands-on training sessions with a qualified Emergency First Response instructor.

Emergency First Response Programs (and for Children)

Primary Care (CPR)
Emergency First Response Primary Care (CPR) teaches you how to deal with emergencies that are immediately life threatening.. You will focus on primary care through a combination of knowledge development, skill development and realistic scenario practice to make sure you have the knowledge, understanding and confidence to use your skills. Here are the Primary Care (CPR) skills:

  • Scene Assessment
  • Barrier Use
  • Primary Assessment
  • Rescue Breathing
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Serious bleeding management
  • Shock management
  • Spinal injury management

You may also participate in an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training component, learn how to help a conscious choking adult and have an emergency oxygen use orientation.

Secondary Care (first aid)
Secondary Care (first aid) covers injuries or illnesses that are not immediately life threatening or when local EMS is unavailable or delayed. You focus on secondary assessment and first aid through knowledge development, skill development and realistic scenario practice. The Secondary Care (first aid) skills are:

  • Injury Assessment
  • Illness Assessment
  • Bandaging
  • Splinting for Dislocations and Fractures

Wreck Diver Speciality
Prerequisites

To qualify for the Wreck Diver course,an individual must:

1. Be certified as a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or have an equivalent rating.

2. Be 15 years of age or older.

The Wreck Dive conducted during the PADI Advanced Open Water program may be counted toward this specialty at the discretion of the instructor conducting the specialty course.

The following is included in the   Wreck Diver course:

1. The planning, organization, procedures, techniques, problems and hazards of wreck diving

2. The preparation and use of lights, air supplies, special
     equipment,  penetration lines and reels

3. Limited-visibility diving techniques and emergency procedures

4. Four dives over 2 days, or 3 dives over 1 day if advanced course wreck  dive taken into account

Underwater Navigation 
Prerequisites

To qualify for the Underwater Navigator course,an individual must:

1. Be certified as a PADI Open Water Diver,PADI Junior Open
    Water Diver or have equivalent ratings.

2. Be 10 years of age or older.

The Core Navigation Dive conducted during the PADI Advanced Open Water program may be counted toward this specialty at the discretion of the instructor conducting the specialty course.

 

 

The purpose of the PADI Underwater Navigator Specialty course is to familiar-ize divers with the skills, knowledge, planning, organization,procedures, techniques, problems, hazards and enjoyment of underwater navigation.

1. The planning, organization, procedures, techniques, problems  and  hazards of underwater navigation.

2. Methods of estimating distances underwater.

3. Natural navigation techniques.

4. Using underwater patterns.

5. Dive site relocation techniques.

6. Compass navigation techniques.

7. Four dives over 2 days, if take advanced core day into account  then  3 dives in 1 day

Multilevel Diver Speciality
This popular course covers the knowledge and skills which enable you to safely dive at various depths using the PADI wheel to calculate times.
Prerequisites

To qualify for the Multilevel Diver course,an individual must:

1. be certified as a PADI Open Water Diver,Junior Open Water Diver or have equivalent ratings.

2. be 12 years of age or older.

The Multilevel Dive from the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver  course may be counted toward the certification requirements for this specialty at the discretion of the instructor conducting the specialty course.

 

 

 

This course covers the knowledge and techniques of multilevel diving.

1. The planning, organization,procedures, techniques, problems and hazards of multilevel diving.

2. Definition and advantages of multilevel diving.

3. Methods of calculating multilevel dives (The Wheel and/or dive computers).

4. Review of decompression sickness theory.

5. Rview of emergency decompression procedures.

6. Procedures for flying after diving.

7. Guidelines,rules and procedures for multilevel diving with the Wheel and  or diving computers.

8. Care and maintenance of dive computers.

Search and Recovery Diver
Prerequisites

To qualify for the Search and Recovery Diver course,an individual must:

1. Be certified as a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver,Junior  Advanced,Open Water Diver or have an equivalent rating OR
   Be certified as a PADI Open Water Diver,Junior Open Water  Diver and PADI Underwater Navigator Specialty Diver or equivalent.

2. Be 12 years of age or older.

The Search and Recovery Dive conducted during the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver program may be counted toward this specialty.

This course covers the techniques and application of a variety of search and recovery methods.

To conduct a Search and Recovery includes the following

1. The planning, organization,procedures, techniques,
     problems,and hazards of search and recovery diving

2.   Limited-visibility diving and underwater navigation techniques

3.  Proper techniques and safety considerations for object location,  including the use of various search patterns, lines and reels

4. Proper techniques and safety considerations for recovery of  objectsusing various lifting devices

Night diver 
Prerequisites

To qualify for the Night Diver course,an individual must:

1. Be certified as a PADI Open Water Diver, PADI Junior Open Water Diver or have equivalent ratings.

2. Be 12 years of age or older.

The Night Dive conducted during the PADI Advanced Open Water programmay be counted toward this specialty.

This course covers the knowledge and techniques of night diving.

1. The planning, organization,procedures, techniques, problems and hazards of night diving

2. Proper procedures for buoyancy control, navigation and communication

3. Use of dive lights and buddy-system techniques

4. Disorientation and emergency procedures

5. Orientation to nocturnal aquatic life

Enriched Air NITROX

We have full NITROX blending facilities on site

This course is designed to qualify recreational divers to use enriched air ("nitrox ") for no stop recreational diving.The program addresses the use of enriched air with 22 percent to 40 percent oxygen,with emphasis on enriched air with 32 and 36 percent oxygen.

Prerequisites

To qualify for the PADI Enriched Air Diver course,an individual must:

1. Be certified as a PADI Open Water Diver or equivalent.

2. Be 15 years of age or older.

As an example, a standard no decompression dive to 18 metres on air is 56 mins, and on Enriched air at 36% oxygen, is extended to 125 minutes.

The purpose of the PADI Enriched Diver speciality course is to familiarise divers with the procedures, safety protocols, hazards, risks, benefits and theory of no decompression diving with oxygen enriched air containing 22% to 40% oxygen. The emphasis is on diving with EAN32 and EAN36 (also known as NOAA Nitrox1 and 11).

Deep Diver

Prerequisites

To qualify for the Deep Diver course,an individual must:

1.Be certified as a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or have an equivalent rating.

2.Be 15 years of age or older.

The Deep Dive conducted during the PADI Advanced Open Water program and may be counted toward this specialty at the discretion of the instructor conducting the specialty course.

 

 

This course covers the knowledge,skills and techniques for deeper diving.

The Deep Diver course contains the following:

1. Planning, organization,procedures, techniques, problems and hazards of deep diving

2. Risk factors and decompression-tables review

3. Safety stops and emergency decompression procedures

4. Special equipment, descent lines and buoyancy-control
     considerations

5. Procedures for flying after diving and high-altitude diving

6. Orientation to recompression chambers

7. Four  dives of 2 days or 3 dives over 1 day if advanced deep dive  taken into account

Underwater Photographer

Prerequisites

To qualify for the Underwater Photographer course,an individual must:

1. Be certified as a PADI Open Water Diver,PADI Junior Open Water Diver or have equivalent ratings.

2. Be 12 years of age or older.

The Underwater Photography Dive conducted during the PADI Advanced Open Water program may be counted toward this specialty.

 

This course covers basic underwater photography with special emphasis on practical photographic techniques.

2. Photographic principles,composition,film types,flash/available light photography and camera-handling techniques

3. The preparation,care and maintenance of photographic
     equipment
